Although many Nigerians would be surprised to learn that the high-flying music star has a heart for football, Davido would quickly chip in that his love for Chelsea dates several years back, to the extent that he once turned up at Stamford Bridge to share love with The Blues.
That was back on November 26, 2016, during the days of former Super Eagles' winger, Victor Moses, who hosted Davido in London after the music icon turned up at the stadium to watch their derby live against local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
Davido told Goal: “I went to the Chelsea game.
That was amazing. Victor Moses (who scored in the match) took me into the locker room and I met all the players, It was amazing. Victor was basically saying, ‘you remember that song I played the other day? That was him from Nigeria’ I met them, I took a picture with them.”

As if to outdo some other Nigerian music stars, like Peter and Paul Okoye as well as Terry G. and veteran actor, Segun Arinze, who are also avowed fans of The Blues, Davido went one step further in 2018 to purchase original jerseys of the club and customized them with the names of his daughters, Imade and Hailey, above numbers 14 and 9 respectively.
Davido did not leave Stamford Bridge without putting his momentous occasion into posterity, as he ensure he teamed up with Moses in the dressing room to snap rare photographs with the dazzling player and a handful of Chelsea’s star players.
The 27-year-old USA-born Babcock University graduate made the best of the moment by getting up close with Moses, Eden Hazard, David Luiz and Diego Costa, all of who have since left the club, as well as new captain, Caesar Azpilicueta after their 2- 1 victory over Tottenham.
It turned out to be a very historic day for Davido, as The Blues’ media unit published the photos on their official Facebook page, showing how the pop star opted to be very humble and meek in squatting alone in front of the players, who all stood during the photo shoot.

Davido then got the opportunity to once again flaunt his love for Chelsea at the start of this week, as he met up with The Blues' current top scorer, Tammy Abraham and the striker’s fellow-Nigerian-born youngster, Fikayo Tomori in Dubai, United Arab Emirates during the wedding of the musician's older brother, Adewale Adeleke.
On the fringes of the event, Abraham labeled Davido as a ‘Young King,’ following his first ever meeting with the musician, who went on to reveal that he is a number one fan of The Blues and then exchanged snap shots with the players, after which he went public to reveal how excited he was with the moment they had together in the oil rich commercial city.

Following the passing of Ifeanyi, the three-year-old child of popular artist, David Adeleke, affectionately called Davido, the Lagos State Police Order has affirmed that all individuals from the vocalist's homegrown staff are presently in police guardianship.
